Christ Church Sunday School

The Year of the Bible

Over the next year, as a congregation including adults and children, we want to make the Bible less intimidating, and more accessible. We want to explore, make new connections, and see where God leads us.

Beginning on Sunday, October 1, we'll explore one piece of the Biblical Story every week, together, as a parish. One moment, one step, one story at a time. We will use The Path, a book that excerpts and condenses the Bible, making it easier to read together with your children. In the pages of this book, we have laid out a clear trail, an easy-to-follow pathway, so that you can journey from one Bible story to the next and see how they connect to each other.

This is a great way to get a sense of the overall story of the Bible, a good start if you've always wanted to read the Bible but have felt intimidated. It will be a good refresher if you're more familiar with the Bible but need some reminders about how all the pieces fit together.

What to Expect on Sundays

Our Sunday School classes for children in Kindergarten through middle school are offered from September to June at 9:15 a.m. in the newly renovated Christ Church Parish House. Our children join the children of CRC for a Bible-focused program that highlights stories, arts, crafts and group discussion. At approximately 10:30 a.m., the children join their families in church for the end of the service. For more information, please contact Heather Bennett at

The Bagels and Bible class for the 7th, 8th and 9th grade students explore what we know and what we don't know about the Bible through group discussion and creative activities. Learn about this and all the programs for Youth on the Youth Page.

We know what a great responsibility it is to care for and teach your children, so we want to do everything possible to ensure their well-being when they are with us. Our teachers have completed Safeguarding God's Children training to provide the safest environment for learning, playing and growing. In addition, all families must complete our Sunday School Application Form and provide contact, allergy, and other needed information.

All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the prosperity of your children.   Isaiah 54:13

Infant and Toddler-Nursery Care

All children, newborn through age 4, are welcome in the newly renovated and fully-operating nursery at Community Reformed Church, open every Sunday, September to June, from 9:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. There, they will be greeted by our teacher, Lydia Jeong, who works with parents to ensure that their children feel welcomed and comfortable in our space. All toddlers and young children are offered a creative and engaging Bible lesson that helps them play, imagine and explore God's love in all of creation!
