Observe a Holy Lent at Christ Church

The 40 days of Lent provide an opportunity for prayer, reflection and learning as a preparation for Easter. In addition to (or in place of) the tradition of "giving something up for Lent", I urge you to consider adding something on as part of your Lenten activities.

Easter Flowers and Music

On Easter Sunday the church is lovingly and beautifully adorned with seasonal greens and flowers, along with wonderful music. The flowers and music are given to the glory of God, and in memory of those we have lost but still hold dear as well as those we are thankful for. You are invited to honor loved ones and friends by making a donation for Easter altar flowers and music in their names.

The names of your loved ones will be listed in the Easter bulletin. Donation forms are available in the Sunday Bulletin or by clicking here.

Please provide a separate check for music and/or flower donations, noting "Easter Music" or "Easter Flowers" in the Memo Line. In order to be printed in the Easter service bulletin, donations and dedication information must be received by Wednesday, March 21.

You may leave your donation in the Sunday collection plate, the Christ Church mailbox or mail to:
1351 Northern Blvd.
Manhasset, NY 11030.

You can also make donations online by visiting donate.christchurchmanhasset.org and selecting "Quick Give." Place your donation amount in the top line, and be sure to specify Easter Flowers, Easter Music or both. Record your memorials in the "Other Comments Box." All donations should be received by Wednesday March 21.

Thank you for helping make the church beautiful this Easter!

And entering into the sepulcher, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were frightened.
And he said unto them, "Be not afraid. Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. Behold the place where they laid Him.   Mark 16:5-6

Palm Sunday

Join us for Easter services and stay for the Easter egg hunt!

Palm Sunday
Sunday, March 25, 8 and 10 a.m.

Procession with palms beginning in the parish house.

Maundy Thursday
March 29 at 7:30 p.m.

The service for Holy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper with a Eucharist and foot washing. The music to be sung by the Chancel Choir reflects the beauty and solemnity of the service.

The choir is singing Ubi Caritas, a beautiful piece often used for weddings, including the Royal Wedding. The words translate roughly to "Where love and charity are, there is God."

Good Friday
March 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Join us as we make our way to the foot of the Cross on Good Friday. In our worship this day, we will hear the story of Jesus' passion, spend time in prayer for ourselves and for the whole world, and receive communion from the sacrament that was consecrated in our worship on Maundy Thursday. The stark simplicity of the Good Friday Service helps us prepare for the joy and energy of our Easter Sunday Celebration.

Easter Sunday
